its been a long long time since my last post.. and this post should be long because there is a lot to write about. but first let me say thank you to my visitors. whoever you are, u know u been thanked.
i've been trying to write a story.. got lots of ideas but nothing came to materialized. well, its just because i can't transform my ideas into writings. but then, not everybody can write a story. better yet, a good story to read. what i found out about writing stories was to present a character we have to elaborate 'him/her' so that our reader will understand about this character. sometime its easy, but most of the time its hard for me. well, to describe a character, you have to be the character. or maybe i'm wrong.. guess i got lots of things to learn about writing. hehehe.. i hope i won't give up on this..
writing stories based on reality require me to do research. i done lots of research about the background of my story. the only problem is i lacked resource. i hope someone can help me, or i'll do it myself later when i got time to search for it.
alternate reality. how fancy a story it was if i can complete it. well, i based my story from real event that happened e.g. WW2, political scenarios, real peoples. then combined all this into a story which is slightly different from the original. then the 'world' i created will move into something different from reality. e.g. the Ally lost the WW2, and so on..
influences. i love reading (and watching programs) about histories. i am fascinated about how the world changes by the course of actions done in the past. and then i started to think, "what if this never happen?". so the idea came from the 'what if' thinking. well, its already been done. one of my favorite (personally) writer is Harry Turtledove, the master of 'what if' universe. other such as Michael Moorcock, who write stories about multiverse, his Eternal Champion stories. love it so much. and my latest reading is American Gods by Neil Gaiman. The best storyteller. i hope i can become someone like them (in your dream!!!) someday. but then, its not easy to write a good story. and not everybody can be a writer, or should i say, NOVELIST.
i guess this is it for now. my next post i will telling you a bit about my writing. till then..
p/s: i want to thank my fiancee for encouraging and teaching me to be a writer, a good writer. she's writing her story also. i love u.
